On this page (use index below or scroll down) you may read about our import services, import Friesians for sale, and our proven import experience.

We provide committed customers with full info, tips, guidance, and door-to-door transportation/quarantine arrangements, or ship yourself (we charge actual shipping cost only).

Why & how to import? Because the best and biggest selection of fairy tale Friesians in pedigrees and sport performance/training as well as approved stallions is still in The Netherlands. Importing is expensive (lowest cost for a gelding or youngster, medium for a mare, highest for a stallion) so it is only worth it if you are willing to invest in something special for a breeding program or top-performance Friesians and at that point prices are actually the same or higher in North America, but there is not much to choose from in North America. So consider importing to stand out and come in with a head start.

Keep in mind that the top stock is often not advertised (and/or the owners do not want it advertised) and needs to be networked for. We have that network. We have the international experience & knowledge with trustworthy, quality connections in The NL that outshine in quiet the overhyped 'factories.' This simplifies importing.

When not to import. If one is looking for a cheap Friesian and is willing to put in the time and effort or, there are many wonderful domestic options, as well as comparable higher-up options. Yes, there are plenty of cheap, very nice Friesians in The Netherlands but by the time one adds the import cost they are at the level of a finished gem and one is better off to go all the way. And don't forget what one will spend domestically in training fees when considering buying domestic vs. import. With both our import and domestic listings we provide unique, personalized, quality options for a real match, not a quick sale.

Happy Valentine's Month!

Surprise your Sweetheart with a visit to our farm. Come ride and hug our Friesians with pictures to remember.

New Import Opportunities
Anneke's Friesians provides new, fresh, unique opportunities based on what is desired: stunning Friesians that are well behaved, a great pedigree, and well trained, from select, private & caring homes.

Friesians that add to the U.S. population and are carefully selected; so not many will be listed, only the few that make the cut. Often import is done by special request and not by listing. Direct-connect with the seller for serious inquiries with full service import available from us or ship yourself.

1. Great import opportunity: 2003, 16.1 hand Piter x Oege dressage gelding with super hair, M2/3rd level dressage, trail rides, level headed.

Jelle is a 9 year old Piter x Oege (baroque and sport) of 1.64m/16.1 hands with tons of hair: long flowing mane and a long forelock to his nose (braided in these photos).

He is currently shown at M2/3rd level dressage level and was selected for the Dutch Championships in Kootwijk. He has won many prizes. Some of the moves: laterals/side pass, haunches in, shoulders in, extensions, collections, walk to canter, trot to square halt, turn on the haunches, simple canter changes, counter canter, beautiful turns and posture, and more.

A great gelding for the more beginning rider or one who's ready to hit the show circuit. He loves trail rides and has the look. Super cool in his head and bombproof so to speak. Video clips available under saddle and at liberty.

Price: about $25K ready to go home from New York import/INcluding import. Price will depend on various import details but that is a good estimate.

E-mail us for more details and video clips.

working with your specific needs, imported from The Netherlands, hard to find in the U.S. Prices are fair, but as mentioned, imports are never 'cheap Friesians.' Serious inquiries only please. Please keep in mind that the top stock is often not advertised (and/or the owners do not want it advertised) and needs to be networked for. We have that network.
