About Weidebloem van den IJssel
 Weidebloem (full registered name Weidebloem van
den IJssel) is our 2007 Feike 395 filly and the
second foal out of our mare Sanne B. She is a Feike 395 x Anne 340
sport x Lammert 260 from stam 111 and will continue the mare line from childhood;
Anneke rode Sanne's dam and grand dam as a teenager in The
Netherlands. Originally we bred Sanne with frozen semen from Onne 376
but it was not meant to be (just not a frozen candidate probably) and Feike was
a solid second choice. Not
a bad choice, because Weidebloem is a beauty; well put together,
statuesque, energetic, very personable, and eye catching, not to mention stout and
tall for her age; already almost 14 hands at 10 months old. She received a 2nd premie at her 2007 fall KFPS
inspection. Her name means meadow flower and that is exactly what
she reminded us of when she was born in Texas, the Wild Flower State
on May 3, 2007, and also why we chose the background picture; Dandelions in a
typical Dutch landscape.

Future Plans
Weidebloem will continue the line. She is our
pet, p.r., and another future lesson and event horse. First
we have a few years of growing up to enjoy. Depending on
what she looks like we may present her for a premie this
fall at the 2008 KFPS/FHANA Texas inspection. Just like Remco
she has been registered with USEF for hopefully some shows

Pictures
We will regularly post new pictures on
this page so you can see Weidebloem grow and in different
situations. The background picture is a Dutch scene of a
typical pasture "fenced off" by a stream with Dandelions
blooming in the grass. That is what we think of for meadow
flower, which is the English translation of Weidebloem and
of course Texas, her home state, is known for its wild
flowers.

2007 KFPS/FHANA inspection:
2nd premie! She
behaved like a goofball but some spunk will be good
later on. Looking at the other Feike offspring and her I
think she will get to be tall and big. Pictures by

Feike 395
Feike 395 is a Feitse 293 pref x Naen
264 x Ritske 202 pref from stam 128. He was born in 1993 in
The Netherlands and is located at
Royal Carousel Friesians in West Jordan, Utah. This
impressive stallion stands at 1.70m/16.3 hands and is shown
successfully in Grand Prix dressage. He was selected for the
stallion testing in The Netherlands but failed the semen
testing at the time. After his move to the U.S. his semen
improved through a strict nutritional regimen and in 2001
Feike received KFPS breeding privileges for North America.
He is the last stallion to be approved under the old
approval regulations in North America. He has not yet
completed his testing on offspring.
